How to Treat Meibomian Gland Dysfunction Naturally | Treat MGD Naturally

in today's video we're going to talk about How to Treat Meibomian Gland Dysfunction Naturally but first i want you to understand the meibomian glands; what they are, where they are, what they do, etc. because knowledge of the meibomian glands is absolutely critical to knowledge of dry eye and i talk about meibomian glands in practically every video i make! there's a seemingly never-ending list of things you can do to get natural MGD relief I've made tip videos about natural dry eye relief, as have lots of other docs on YouTube but I recently realized something nobody has made a video about yet is why a natural eye care routine and natural products are such a big part of managing your MGD, and that's what we'll cover now; the most recent natural treatment options and you'll finally understand why it's so critical to methodically choose your treatments and stack them effectively rather than just trying any new treatment you see in a commercial or combining treatments while uninformed of underlying systemic problems. So in today's video we're gonna demystify the meibomian glands, you will finally understand why they're important to your precious little eye holes and how to support their functionality as well as how to treat MGD naturally, holistically and organically where possible . . .let’s go 💻 FREE Dry Eye & Makeup/Skincare downloads on my website: drmelaniedenton.com 🤝 Join our community: eyesafebeauty.com ⏱️ Timecodes: 00:00 Intro - 86% of Meibomian Gland Dysfunction is Dry Eye! 01:47 What are meibomian glands? 04:08 What happens when meibomian glands dysfunction? 05:10 What should meibomian gland oil look like? 05:52 What causes meibomian glands dysfunction? 06:46 General Recommendations 09:15 Breakin' Down Omega 3's! 11:45 Important Specific Recommendations One of the most important natural treatments for MGD and/or DED is your diet! So let's get right into dietary considerations even though we're talking about the d word today. I want to make clear that thinking of this like a "diet" will not be as helpful as slowly changing your habits and choosing foods that heal instead of foods that inflame. Making one small good choice one good decision per day can make a measurable impact on the state of your dry eye long term. if any one of these suggestions sounds to you like, "oh yes that's definitely something i can do", then start there and slowly work towards making that a habit. 🔗 Affiliate Links: 🥼 Dr. Denton’s Favorite Products are Heyedrate!✨ https://eyelovethesun.com?aff=68 👀 Dry Eye Rescue affiliate code "drdenton10" can be used at https://bit.ly/3KMYlud 🙏 Thank you so much for tuning into our channel! 🔔 Don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE! Does radio frequency help dry eye? What is the new treatment for dry eye disease?

Could radiofrequency waves successfully treat dry eyes? Radiofrequency (RF) has recently become the latest treatment for dry eye syndrome. It all begins with Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) which is a common type of dry eye and it causes evaporative dry eye disease. Evaporative dry eye disease means there isn’t enough oil being produced in your tear film and as a result, your tears dry up at a quicker rate. It accounts for nearly 80% of dry eye disease. And that is today’s video is exciting . . . so let’s get into it! #radiofrequency #dryeyedisease #dryeyesyndrome #dryeyesyndrome 💻 FREE Dry Eye & Makeup/Skincare downloads on my website: drmelaniedenton.com 🤝 Join our community: eyesafebeauty.com ⏱️ Timecodes: 00:00 Intro to Radio Frequency for Dry Eye 01:04 Mild MGD or Dry Eye Syndrome Treatments 02:44 Radio Freequency (RF) has the ability to . . . 04:43 How Can Radio Frequency Treatments Help Dry Eye Syndrome 05:31 Common Questions About Radio Frequency Treatment 09:05 An Important Note About All Skin Tones** 09:46 Summary - Our Biggest Takeaways What is Radiofrequency? Radiofrequency (RF) is a technique that stimulates collagen production by safely delivering high frequency electrical currents to the surface of the skin. The electrical currents generate heat, at a predetermined temperature, to increase collagen growth within the superficial and deeper layers of the skin. This increase in collagen helps to tighten the skin, resulting in an improved appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The application of radiofrequency serves a dual purpose for wrinkle reduction and in-office MGD treatment. MGD is associated with dry eye disease and the blockage of meibomian glands prevents secretion of oil into the tears. Radiofrequency has the ability to provide uniform bulk heating at an optimal temperature to treat MGD. Heat delivered during the procedure melts the oil that is clogging the glands and consistent pressure from the application movement allows for easy simultaneous expression. 📚 Research Links: https://bit.ly/42aQA7W - https://bit.ly/43B4EbX - https://bit.ly/3C6aRB2 🔗 Affiliate Links: 🥼 Dr. What are the effects of aging on your vision? How does aging effect vision? What is aging vision?

As you age, it is normal to notice changes in your vision. A few common changes for older adults include: - Losing the ability to see up close - Having trouble distinguishing colors, such as blue from black - Needing more time to adjust to changing levels of light While many of these problems are often easily corrected with glasses, contact lenses, and improved lighting may help, it is important to understand our risk for some eye diseases and conditions increases as we grow older, and some eye changes are more serious. And of course, as an optometrist, one of my most important pieces of advice is to keep your eyes as healthy as possible by getting regular eye exams so any problems can be spotted early! 💻 FREE Dry Eye & Makeup/Skincare downloads on my website: drmelaniedenton.com 🤝 Join our community: eyesafebeauty.com ⏱️ Timecodes: 00:00 Intro 01:29 Tip #1 to protect your vision 02:52 Normal changes in your aging eye 03:51 Everyone over age 50 needs a dilated eye exam yearly & more 06:12 Tip #2 to protect your vision 07:23 Eye Diseases & Conditions 13:26 Signs of an eye emergency 15:48 Summary Tip #1 - Have your eyes checked regularly by an eye care professional — either an ophthalmologist or optometrist like me. Finding and treating any problems early can help protect your vision and prevent vision loss. Make a list of your questions and concerns to share with the doctor. Tell them which medications you are taking. Some can affect your eyes. Normal changes in the aging eye usually do not harm your vision. However, sometimes they can be signs of a more serious problem. For example, your eyes may leak tears. This can happen with light sensitivity, wind, or temperature changes. Sunglasses and eye drops may help. Sometimes, leaking tears may be a symptom of dry eye or sign of an infection or blocked tear duct. Your eye care professional can treat these problems. Many people don’t notice any signs or symptoms in the early stages of eye diseases. A dilated eye exam performed by an eye care professional is the only way to find some common eye diseases while they’re easier to treat — and before they cause vision loss. 📚 Research Links: https://bit.ly/45momdk 🔗 Affiliate Links: 🥼 Dr. And because I am a doctor, and I can’t not . . . By the way, I’m going to say Stye a lot! In this video but that’s NOT actually the term…it’s hordeolum. But, I digress….I’ve sssooo been here before - it’s like Groundhog Day, have you guys seen that movie? Okay, here we go! #eyestye #eyehealth #eyes #eyehealthtips #eyehealthmatters #stye #eyedoctor 💻 FREE Dry Eye & Makeup/Skincare downloads on my website: drmelaniedenton.com 🤝 Join our community: eyesafebeauty.com ⏱️ Timecodes: 00:00 Intro 01:44 What is a stye? Should you pop the stye? 05:02 At home interventions for a stye 06:46 Doctor interventions for a stye - 24hrs stye is gone! 09:57 Summary Wrap Up So why do styes occur in the first place and what are they? Stye is the common term for what we in the medical field call a hordeolum. A stye is a painful red bump on your eyelid edge. Similar to an acne pimple, a stye forms when a tiny oil gland near the eyelashes becomes blocked and gets infected. Styes are bacterial infections that cause the gland to swell. Styes can be painful. The medical term for a stye is a hordeolum. Styes are very common and in many cases, you can manage a stye at home. However, some cases may require treatment by an eye care provider. It’s common to have a stye on only one eyelid, but it is also possible to get styes on both lids. 📚 Research Links: https://bit.ly/3BiWdpO - https://bit.ly/42KKR9I - https://bit.ly/3nMydZ1 🔗 Affiliate Links: 🥼 Dr. I've said it before, I'll say it a hundred thousand more times what goes around your eyes ends up in your eyes. Optometrists are the predominant primary eye care professionals in the United States which means our profession has the opportunity and the responsibility to talk to patients about eye health in relation to beauty and skin care products. I think this is so important that I've chosen to create in my practice an aesthetic clinic that has a culture of focusing on eye health. #skincare #skincareroutine #beautyrituals #dryeyes #dryeyedoc #dryeyedisease #optometrist #aesthetic #esthetician #estheticians #esthetic - How to order from circadia? https://circadia.com/ 💻 FREE Dry Eye & Makeup/Skincare downloads on my website: drmelaniedenton.com 🤝 Join our community: eyesafebeauty.com ⏱️ Timecodes: 00:00 Intro 01:32 Is Circadia Medical Grade? 02:39 Who Owns Circadia? 03:09 What Does Dr. D Love from Circadia?
